Ouranians / Ouranian Lords

Extra-universal intelligences who explore our universe by proxy . . . through us. Being unable to directly act upon or take part in this physical continuum, the Ouranians have learned how to deploy a heavily curtailed version of themselves, that can substantiate in highly developed organisms capable of sustaining self-awareness. Such a composite is called a Second Self, useful as a vehicle through which to study—and to some degree influence—the goings on in our world. “Ouranos” means “Sky” in Ancient Greek. Since the dawn of time, humans have associated such “otherworldly” influences or muses with the Sky. They referred to such intelligences as “Sky People” or “Sky Lords,” assumed to have descended from the Sky or the Heavens to guide us. In the OC, this sky-associated designation is proliferated by Kayin, not fostered by the Ouranians. If the Ouranians refer to themselves at all then only as being “One Thought Among Many.” Occasionally they admit to a function, like being our guides, watchers/observers, as well as our muses, and here and there as “the voice of conscience.” Rarely do they admit to being our “Original Selves.”
Regarding the Ouranians’ inability to act within our universe or to participate directly in it: Firstly, being inhabitants of another universe—the ancestor universe to our own—They are materially incompatible with our domain. (There are some indications—pursued in Book Four, Palace of Regret—that They might even be entities who do not need universes to exist, that is, that there are other forms of being apart from those confined to a universal existence, whether multiversal or otherwise. One of the possibilities explored is whether They should be considered a Level 6 civilization on the Kardashev scale. They are certainly at least Level 5.) Either way, our world remains inaccessible to Them in terms of “physical means”—since those “means” belong exclusively to our universe.
Secondly, if our universe is a simulation (non-computer driven), meaning a “dry run,” and if the Ouranians are the ones who have set up this simulation (for whatever reason) and are therefore conducting an “experiment” They wish to monitor—while being restricted to only an indirect influencing of the subjects inside the simulation—then They logically must reside “outside” the simulation field.
Consider Plato’s Cave analogy: The Ouranians are outside Plato’s cave, unable to enter it. They can at best relay hints and messages, functioning as inspirational sparks conveyed to the prisoners “inside the cave,” while at the same time monitoring what’s going on in the cave, by means of the mind’s eye or the imagination (including the dreams) of the prisoners. In this sense, any tampering within the setup must naturally be minimal. It is a tricky squaring of the circle that allows the Ouranians to use certain means or agents by which to observe the internal goings on in their simulation—ergo, the Second Selves—while not becoming part of the simulation Themselves. No matter whatever transpires, the First or Original Selves must remain outside the goings-on. While not remaining entirely passive, of course. After all, what is the point of an experiment if one cannot tamper with it occasionally? In a controlled manner of course, toward a specific outcome that only They know.
