Red Turban Rebellion

Northern China: A 14th century peasant rebel movement that put an end to the Mongol Yuan dynasty (1206–1368 AD) and restored the Dragon Throne to Han rule at the inception of the Ming dynasty. The Red Turban rebellion would have been unthinkable without the White Lotus Society and the Pure Land teachings of its founder Huiyuan 慧遠 (334–416 AD).
