The blood of the Gods in Greek mythology. An ethereal liquid with immortal qualities. In the OC, it protects against the plague. Kayin likens his own blood to ichor, given that he has survived many plagues unscathed. It explains his fearless behavior during the attack on Kaffa, when plague ridden corpses start raining upon the city. More about Kayin’s relationship with Ichor will be revealed in books of the OC series. Ichor is mentioned in Homer’s Iliad V. 339–342: “Blood follow’d, but immortal; ichor pure, Such as the blest inhabitants of heav’n, May bleed, nectareous . . .”
