Gnostic / Gnosticism

In the OC the term Gnostic is employed in its historical sense, alluding to sects or movements deemed heretical by the Christian Church. The Masks of God belong to such a belief system, though in their case they follow a blend of pagan practices that combine Empedoclean purification teachings and Neo-Pythagoreanism with Bogomil, Cathar, and Essene teachings. At the heart of their creed is the Book of Amarant and the collected esoteric writings it entails.
