A spirit companion who guards a person’s fate or fortune. An equivalent or precursor of a fairy. A fylgja can appear in the form of an animal that reflects the character of the person they attend to. Fylgja, or rather fylgjur in the OC, is Aušrinė’s equivalent term for Kayin’s “pixies,” the inhabitants of the Hiding Land.
