Aoun

An archaic title meaning “Helper” used by the Ouranian to address Kayin. In response Kayin sometimes refers to himself as the Lord’s “thane,” an Old English word for attendant or servant. When Kayin’s mission demands his Sense of Self be reduced to that of simple helper—without the burden of memories related to his earlier identities—Kayin operates as Aoun. It occurs mainly when Kayin is in actor mode, rather than his usual observer role. “Aoun/aun” also means “helper” in Arabic, and “help” in Urdu.
